
The 2024 WRC competition was another competitive tournament. The 2 round competition tipped off in Tauranga on the 27th of April.
The first round of WRC had 6 teams vying to earn a spot in Division 1 for the finals in Wellington at WRC 2 in Wellington.
The competition was fierce and every team showed glimpses of fantastic rugby. The final saw Auckland take on Waikato, with Auckland taking the win and proving they are still the team to beat in New Zealand.
The top 4 teams to qualify for division 1. The bottom 2 will compete in Division 2 in Wellington.

With the divisions set from WRC 1, WRC 2 was set to provide some close rugby. Otago joined BOP and Manawatu to fight it out for the Division 2 title while Auckland, Waikato, Canterbury and hosts dsport went head-to-head for the division 1 crown.
A great day of rugby was had on Saturday and after some tight matches the finals were set. BOP and Manawatu in a rematch of the 2023 Division 2 final went at it for the 2024 title. In Division 1 there was another rematch of the 2023 final as Auckland took on Canterbury.
In 2024 BOP was able to get some revenge on Manawatu to win the Division 2 title. Auckland played some great rugby to successfully defend their 2023 title and once again win WRC Division 1 in 2024.
In a tight game for 3rd place Waikato just beat a fast-finishing dsport.
Congratulations to BOP Division 2 champions and Auckland Division 1 champions.
