Congratulations to Sasha Wright on her appointment as New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby’s Programme Manager for the high performance wheelchair rugby team, the Wheel Blacks. Sacha will be supporting NZWR and the Wheel Blacks team toward success at the IWRF 2018 World Championships. The Programme Manager role has a focus on assisting the head coach to develop and adapt the campaign programme, as well as organising the logistics in getting the Wheel Blacks team to each event.

As the outgoing Programme Manager, NZWR and the wheelchair rugby community thank Cherie Porter for her tireless contribution to the Wheel Blacks team over the past six years.Cherie has more than fulfilled the role of project manager for the Wheel Blacks, managing logistics for the team both within New Zealand and at international events, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. NZWR are honoured to have Cherie remain on the committee leading the high Performance portfolio and to support the transition of Sacha into the Programme Manager role.

Once again, the NZ Wheelchair rugby community are fortunate to have such volunteers who continue to commit to our sport by donating their time and energy. A great thank you to Cherie and a big welcome to Sacha.
